Jinmenju

In Japanese Mythology, Jinmenju (じんめんじゅ) are strange trees which grow in dark forests. The jinmenju's fruit appear to be human heads. The jinmenju attracts its prey by emiting a lonely cry. When a mortal moves close enough, the strange tree steals its soul. Eventually, the face of the deceased grows on one of the fruits.
