Afterwards, Shiina Yasutane called on the help of Uesugi Kenshin of the Echigo Province, who captured Toyama in the spring of 1560. Afterwards, Nagamoto fled to the Masuyama Castle and held off many attacks the Shiina. During the year of 1562, Nagamoto led a desperate attack against the Shiina, which only led to Uesugi Kenshin leading an army into Etchu, and defeating Nagamoto in the 10th month of that year. After the year of 1566, Takeda Shingen became involved in the affairs in Etchu, and Kenshin for a time decided to ally with Nagamoto. Though internal strife within the Jinbo at length brought about the demise of the family as Daimyo. Afterwards, the Jinbo served as vassals under that of Kenshin.
