The bio page mentions he is Lord Commissioner and Parliamentary secretary at the cabinet office, not a whip. Also I can't find a source for Zionism or Republicanism. Zeimusu | Talk page 00:01, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

Google says he was chairman of Labour Friends of Israel. I can't find a source for Feemasonry though. Should there be a separate page for the children's author? Excuse me Murphy is a Mason it is well known in Newton Mearns that Murphy regularly attends the Masonic meetings at Thorntree Hall,Newton Mearns

Several websites suggest Murphy was a member of the Revolutionary Communist Party (Furedi) in his early 20s. Does anyone have a reliable source for this? Warofdreams talk 00:51, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
