Jimmy Wayne was born in 1972 in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. He is an American country music singer and songwriter, now living in Nashville, Tennessee.

Wayne signed a contract with DreamWorks Records in Nashville in 2001. Jimmy’s debut album was in June of 2003 and placed a single in the Top 10 before he released his album. One of his songs, Stay Gone, was a Billboard country hit. That was followed by Paper Angels, a narrative of his own life story, and Blue and Brown, which was about an encounter with a foster brother who became an inmate. On October 6, 2006 he will release his new single titled "That's All I'll Ever Need," with Big Machine Records. The sound- "country soul."

Wayne's influences include Hall and Oates, Alan Jackson, Lionel Richie, Ronnie Milsap, Iron Maiden, Queensrÿche and Judas Priest.

Wayne was a performer at HomeBase Youth Services 2006 Doorway of Hope Dinner in Phoenix Arizona. There he performed his hit "I Love You This Much" and a new song "Elephant Ears". He talked candidly about being homeless and child abuse. Also present was Dave Pelzer.

In June, 2004 Jimmy was visited by a young girl named Sara Smith at his fan fair booth. She was very glad to get his autograph and later commented "gee, that was fun!"
