Jimmy Walker (basketball)

James "Jimmy" Walker (born April 8, 1944 in Amherst, Virginia) is a former professional basketball player. A 6'3" guard from Providence College, he played nine seasons (1967–1976) in the NBA as a member of the Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, and Kansas City Kings. Walker was a two-time All-Star who scored 11,655 points in his career. He is also the estranged father of current NBA player Jalen Rose.

He was selected number one overall in the 1967 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons.
