Jimmy Mazzy

Jimmy Mazzy is a traditional jazz banjo player and vocalist. Based in the Boston, MA area, he has performed in the United States and other parts of the world, appearing regularly at the Sacramento, San Diego, Essex, and other traditional jazz festivals. Mazzy is a member of The Paramount Jazz Band and several other smaller combinations. Mazzy has repeatedly won nationwide polls as the top traditional jazz banjo player and male vocalist. Some of his best work has been with tubist Eli Newberger as a duo or as a trio with various pianists. For many years, Mazzy has hosted a weekly jam session, encouraging the development of younger traditional jazz musicians and fostering wider appreciation of classic jazz.
