[edit] About

Jimmie Robinson has an extensive career, starting with self-publishing and currently with Image Comics.

  • His first work with Image comics was AMANDA & GUNN (1996 - 4 issue mini-series. This black & white series was a direct spin off of from his self-published work, CYBERZONE (8-issues, 1994-1996). It featured the black heroine, Amanda Shane and her intelligent gun in a sci-fi environment as a bounty hunter. The lesbian sexuality gave the title a cult following due to Robinson's fair treatment of the character.
  • Robinson then followed with a medical drama called, CODE BLUE (1997) which he colored in gray tone. His intent was to create ER for comics. But due to low sales and a change in story plans he canceled it after a single issue.
  • A year later, Robinson turned gears to the light-hearted all-ages material with the oddly named, ADVENTURES OF EVIL & MALICE (1998-1999). This was Robinson's first full color book. Originally set as a 4 issue mini-series, it had to be cut down to 3 issue due to low sales. Much of this due to the odd name for an all-ages book. But even today it remains a favorite among his readers.
  • Robinson shifted gears again taking on a project by writer, Ché Gilson called, AVIGON (2000), which started out as a 56-page novella. This was the first collaboration for Robinson and it was well received. Image Comics decided to extend the book into a 184-page TPB. But Robinson suffered along for years and did not finish the title until June 2005.
  • in 2006 he took on the superhero genre by creating a super villain in Bomb Queen (2006 4-issue series). This sexed up title, while T & A on the surface sported satirical social and political commentary while poking fun at pop culture and celebrity. Currently Bomb Queen is going strong with plan into 2007-2008.
