Jiminy Lummox
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Jiminy Lummox" is a season three episode of The Ren and Stimpy Show. It was written by Bob Camp, Jim Gomez and Ron Hauge, storyboarded by Peter Avanzino, background color design done by Victoria Jenson and directed by Ron Hughart.
[edit] Plot
When Ren displays disturbing acts of cruelty to animals and neighbors, Stimpy decides to interfere. After his fly Ralph is gruesomely tortured by Ren (who had been pulling Ralph's wings while pinning his body with his index finger), Stimpy lends Ren his "conscience": Jiminy Lummox, a singing, stupid, sadistic oaf who always appears to harm Ren every time he loses his temper.
The song Jiminy Lummox is known for being a parody of the Pinocchio song, "When You Wish upon a Star," but the Jiminy Lummox song went like this:
- "When you wish upon a side of beef,
- soon will come an end to all your grief.
- But if you've been mean or kinda bad,
- I will knock out all your teeth."
[edit] Trivia
- This episode was started at Spümcø.
- John Kricfalusi wrote this episode to make fun of Jiminy Cricket, a character which he felt had no real reason to be in the Pinocchio film.
- Two scenes were cut from the DVD: the first was a scene in which Ren fills Stimpy's bath tub with crabs and Stimpy doesn't notice, putting on his fur over the crabs, and the second was a scene in which Ren places nitroglycerin on Stimpy's chair, and as Stimpy sits on it, it explodes, causing Stimpy's butt to explode even though he feels nothing.
- In the nitroglycerin scene, as Stimpy switches TV channels, an imitation of Homer Simpson's voice can be heard saying, "I hate having two heads." This is from the The Simpsons episode "Treehouse of Horror II" in which Mr. Burns grafts his head onto Homer's body. Ren and Stimpy would later appear on The Simpsons, voiced by Castellaneta and Shearer), and Ron Hauge would later go on to write and produce several later episodes.
