Jim Thornton is a television and radio announcer, who in 2004, took Rod Roddy's place in the podium as one of the subannouncers of the long-running CBS series The Price Is Right right before Rich Fields in April 2004. Thornton, born in West Virginia, is best known as the morning traffic reporter on all-news radio KNX 1070 in Los Angeles. He is now the afternoon news anchor along with Vicki Cox at KNX.
He is also currently voicing Johnny Gomez on Celebrity Deathmatch
Jim Thornton was the system architect of the CDC 6600 in 1962, at the time the fastest computer in the world.
