James J. Schmitt is an American Republican politician, born June 7, 1958 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin to Jim and Mary Schmitt. On April 1, 2003 he was elected as the 41st mayor of Green Bay, Wisconsin [1], succeeding Paul Jadin who had not sought re-election. Jim married Dona Degenhardt on May 26, 1990. They had four daughters: Anna, Greta, Laura and Eva (who died as an infant in 2002).
