Jim Crockett

Jim Crockett was a professional wrestling promoter sometimes known as Jim Crockett, Sr. or "Big Jim".

Jim Crockett started promoting wrestling cards in 1935 as "Eastern States Championship Wrestling", which was the predecessor to Jim Crockett Promotions. He was a member of the National Wrestling Alliance. He was also a concert promoter and owned a theater and a restaurant.

Crockett died in 1973 and his son, Jim Crockett, Jr., took over his promotion.

His son had a tag team tournament from 1986 through 1988 in honor of him called the Jim Crockett Sr. Memorial Cup.
