Jim Cantore

Jim Cantore, a Weather Channel (TWC) meteorologist and Storm-Tracker, is among the most prominent and passionate weather broadcasters on television.
When a major weather event has occurred or is imminent, Cantore provides live field reporting from that site. Clips of him reporting while braving hurricane winds are a staple of the channel. Jim has reported from so many hurricanes that residents along the coast have given him the nickname, "The Angel of Death".

Born in White River Junction, Vermont. Cantore graduated from nearby Lyndon State College in 1986. The Weather Channel gave him his first job out of college in July of 1986.

Cantore hosted the show Atmospheres in 2000 with Mish Michaels, and he narrates Storm Stories, which is shown daily on TWC. He is also on The Weather Channel as their Storm Tracker on Evening Edition now from 9 to 11 p.m EST - Monday through Friday.

Cantore has reported from the sites of numerous hurricanes, including the 4 major hurricanes that affected Florida in 2004. Cantore also covered Hurricane Katrina in 2005. He has reported on-site from various blizzards and floods as well.
