Jim Blackley

James David Blackley (born 1927 in Edinburgh) is a jazz drummer and educator who has lived in Canada since 1953.

He began playing drums in Scotland at 13 and became known for drumming in Scottish Pipe bands. After moving to Canada he heard Max Roach while on tour and became interested in jazz. After that he led some groups at clubs, but is primarily known as an educator. His son Keith is also a jazz drummer.
