Talk:Jhoon Rhee

Where was he born? Shawnc 01:41, 17 November 2005 (UTC) He was born in Pu Son Korea.....I think.
[edit] Who trained who?
The article does not make it completely clear when it says "trained with Bruce Lee to help develop his kicks." Does this mean that Bruce Lee needed help with his kicks so he trained with Jhoon Rhee (which is probably not true), or that Jhoon Rhee trained under Bruce Lee so that Lee could improve Rhee's kicks--this seems the most likely scenario?
Someone who knows the answer, please change the article so that it is more clear on the subject.
Jhoon Rhee actually did teach Bruce Lee the TKD version of a side kick. Bruce Lee at the time was creating his own style (Jeet Kun Do), which was a combination of the different arts Bruce Lee was exposed to.

[edit] Which one is he?
In that picture, which guy is Rhee?
Um...if you're talking about the picture with the two guys in martial arts uniforms, than I think you gotta look closer at the picture. The guy on the right, is clearly Mohhammed Ali, the great heavyweight boxer. So I guess Rhee would be the other guy in the picture.
Bruce Lee met Jhoon Rhee in 1964 (when Lee was 24, Rhee was 32), at the first National Karate Championships in Washington D.C. It is TRUE that Lee learned the HIGH-SIDE-KICK from Jhoon Rhee. It is ALSO true that RHEE learned to POWER PUNCH from LEE. They were friends, and they worked out together often between 1964 and 1969.
This (among other sources) is a book that reveals some of these truths.
