Hey, I'm Jetman123. I've used this nickname ever since I first got on the internet. It's not a very common one, so I rarely have to change it to fit a website.
I am facinated with Wikipedia and think it is one of the best things that ever happened to the internet. A free encyclopedia that everyone can contribute to... this is perfect, because it nearly elimitnates bias and misinformation because so many different people contribute, instead of just one group which might be biased or misinformed. Others might say that Wikipedia is too much of a vandal-magnet, that any time you go to a page you run the rampant risk of running into misinformation of vandalism. However, I point out to them this simple fact:
We can revert it faster than they can vandalize it.
It takes us about five to ten seconds on average to revert an article. Compare that to the anywhere from thirty seconds to several minutes it would be required to vandalize a page severely. The chances of running into vandalism are severely reduced simply because it's so easily reversible. In short, Wikipedia by nature resists vandalism. Couple that with the dedicated souls we've got patrolling the Recent Changes page, who are the scourge of any vandal, and the fact that the good edits FAR, FAR, FAR, FAR, FAR outweigh the bad.
In short, Wikipedia is wicked!!! (Or should it be wikied? ...you're all gonna hurt me now, aren't you...)
Me? I prefer editing video game sections. I have a good memory and can remember the story of a game I've played well. I've toned up at least three story sections. My most major efforts are in Mega Man 7, Mega Man Battle Network 3, and freelancer. You'd be shocked at just how poor these story descriptions were. Each one of them was about two short paragraphs before I stepped in. I also like to grow video game stubs to complete articles: just look at Phazon. I expanded it from a stub to an article with five paragraphs in total, three sections, and two images.
What I really like about Wikipedia is having the chance to learn. Going back to the places I've edited and seeing what other people have done to what I did... I'm just happy to be part of such a great website, where almost everyone is nice to everyone else and is happy to help new users.

[edit] Quotes (By myself, of course :P)
"Maybe it has something to do with the sharadiation that the zoomer emits from it's pseudoglands causing the unparticlized exoskeleton's power supply to spontaneously combust in a fireblast of protonic reversal, making every molecule in the suit collapse and evaporate in a spatio-temporal anomrift at the speed of light and causing the depolarization of the weapon system's plasma subcoils to generate a superhole in spacetime and an immense explosion that would cause a massive implosion on a gigantic scale, ending the supraverse as we know it." - In response to someone asking why Samus Aran from the Metroid series can be killed by "a two-foot thing with spikes". (Zoomer)
"*kidnaps Travis and shoves him a cloning machine* *clones Travis* I think you're a clone nooooow." - In a conversation with my friend Travis (AKA Sivart0). Yes, I am referencing Weird Al's "I think I'm a clone now".
"Like the Borg, it self-corrects and adapts, growing, assimilating new users. Your informational and technological distinctiveness will be added to the encyclopedia. Resistance is futile." -Comment on a donation to WikiMedia
"v_^ AAAAAAAGHHH!! MY EYES AREN'T SUPPOSED TO GO THAT WAAAAAAAAAAY!!" -During a MSN conversation

[edit] My Sprite Comic
I run a sprite comic known as "Mega Man and Samus", a crossover between CapCom's long-running Mega Man series and Nintendo's Metroid series. It's currently in it's very early stages, having just gone up on 2/5/2006, but if you'd like to check it out, you can do so here:
[edit] Nonsense on stilts
This page is nonsense on stilts! Made because I am bored and find that poll incredibly funny.
Oh yeah, and remember:
This user has a sense of humour and shows it on their userpage. |
