Jesus Ranch
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jesus Ranch is the title of a song by the rock band, Tenacious D. Originally featured in the 1997 film, Bongwater, the song was later featured in one of the band's HBO episodes; Road Gig. In the short, Jack Black and Kyle Gass run out of wiper fluid on a road trip and, in their quest for a refill, stumble upon a religious cult compound called "Jesus Ranch", after which the song is named.
Like a number of the songs from the HBO shorts, "Jesus Ranch" was re-recorded for their 2001 eponymous album, but was unable to make the final cut of the album. Whether or not it will be on a future album remains uncertain - the song is available online, and the band has - though never actually condemning or commending the release - confirmed it to be their song.
The track was how ever featured on the single release for 'Tribute' as well as Cave Intro in which Jack explains to Kyle they are recording Jesus Ranch in a cave as it has the best acoustics. Jack then tells Kyle to play a different intro.
