Jesse O'Brien
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jesse O'Brien (born September 25, 1977 in Dunedin; currently living in Hamilton, New Zealand) is a singer who placed fourth on the second season of NZ Idol. Jesse also auditioned in the first series of NZ Idol, where he sang Edwin McCain's I'll Be and officially made the Top 60, but had to decline as his wife was about to give birth to their second child.
Jesse returned to his job as a youth pastor at the completion of the 2005 series but just recently resigned to pursue more musical avenues. He has a newly formed band called Saving McGyver. He's also doing an Idol album with Eddie Rayner and Adrian Stuckey which will feature 10 ten tracks he sang on the show last year as well as one original. When asked recently, Jesse said he was, "Trying to become a credible musician instead of just another Idol has-been" [1].
