Jerome Fontamillas
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jerome Fontamillas is a Filipino American musician based in California. He was born on June 20 sometime in the 1960s. Jerome has played in several bands notably with Mortal and Fold Zandura with long time musical partner Jyro Xhan. He currently plays with alternative rock band Switchfoot as a guitar and keyboard player.
In 1988 he, Jyro Xhan, Ray Tongpo and Wilson Peralta released a six song demo tape called Wish Fifteen on Blue Genius Music as Mortal Wish. Four years later they signed with Intense Records and became simply Mortal. Jerome would continue to play with Mortal until 1996 and began to play in Fold Zandura (also with Jyro) since 1995. Fold Zandura has since disbanded with their last album being released in 1999. In 2002 Jyro and Jerome released their sixth studio album as Mortal called Nu-En-Jin. It featured nine new songs as well as two remixes from Lusis. Fold Zandura toured with Switchfoot, and Jon Foreman, lead singer of Switchfoot sings on Mortal's song Myth0 Ex (Green edit).
In 2000, Jerome quit his day job that Jon has described as professional and required the wearing of a suit and ended up joining Switchfoot. At the time, Switchfoot's third album, Learning to Breathe has just released. However, Fontamillas would not become a technical member instead of a touring buddy until Switchfoot's 2003 release, Beautiful Letdown.
He married his wife Kristi in December of 2005.
Jerome is also a producer for the following independent acts:
- The Echoing Green, Echoing Green album (1998)
- Sonia V
- Starflyer 59, I Predict A Clone (1994)
- MARCH, Velvert Blue Music, (1999)
