Jerome Barber

Dr. Jerome Barber is a Professor of Sociology and Adjunct Professor of Physical Education at Erie Community College in Orchard Park, New York. He developed and teaches the first college credit program in Modern Arnis in North America (established in 1987).
In 1993, Dr. Barber founded the Independent Escrima-Kenpo-Arnis Associates, with the blessings of Professor Remy Presas, Grandmaster Al Tracy and Punong Guro Tom Bolden. He is also a member of the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
The curriculum for the IEKAA and the credit bearing college courses has a signed endorsement from Remy Presas.
Dr. Barber has authored numerous articles in several publications (including the Filipino Martial Arts Magazine) and is an active seminar host, facilitating various seminars and camps in the Western New York area. He is noted for having hosted the first Modern Arnis symposium (in Buffalo, NY).
