From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jeremy Thorp is a Canadian digital artist and designer living in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
A consultant and trainer for a number of design agencies worldwide, Thorp speaks at technology and design conferences each year. He is also a professor in Langara College's Electronic Media Design program.
Thorp's unique collection of organic Flash experiments and generative art have won numerous awards and have shown around the world and been featured in many design magazines both online and in print.
His tree.growth project is the result of a year's exploration into the generation of algorithmic trees. Created entirely by custom-written computer code, the four trees on exhibit have grown to remarkable complexity following a very simple set of rules. Each composed of hundreds of thousands of uniquely generated shapes, the trees have been printed in large format as digital prints on canvas.
