Jeremias Chitunda

Jeremias Chitunda (died 1 November 1992) was a leader in the rebel group UNITA. He served as vice-president of the group until his death in November 1992 after street battles in the capital, Luanda. Chitunda was trying to flee the capital during fighting between the government and his UNITA militia after UNITA rejected the results of the September 1992 presidential and parliamentary elections and took up arms against the government again.
