Talk:Jeolla
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Past tense
“Jeolla was located in …” – what? Isn't it there anymore?
Except for the Culture section near the bottom, this article uses the past. I think most people say “전라도” instead of “호남” or even “서남부 지방” when they talk about this area (not as an administrative entity), and this article should reflect that usage. The same problem perhaps affects similar articles.
Uninformed people who follow a link in, for example, the People's Republic of Korea article will be surprised to learn that its units were active in a province of the Joseon dynasty. If you insist that 전라도 is a thing of the past, we'd have to change a few links from Jeolla to Honam to avoid anachronisms, although I think we should go with the term people use.
