[edit] Foundation of Jendo

Jendo martial arts was first introduced in 1973 by its Filipino originator and founder Grandmaster Jonathan Makiling [[also known as Jonathan "June" Makiling Abaya]] in Hulo, Mandaluyong, Philippines.


[edit] Among the First Students of Jendo

Among the first students of Grandmaster Jonathan Makiling Abaya in 1969 are his own stepsister Maria Theresa and stepbrother Victorio Jr. In 1973, he introduced Jendo to his former High School classmates in the Jose Rizal College now Jose Rizal University Albert Jimenez and Jameson Bautista.

In 1977, a college student of Jose Rizal College, Macario Pastidio join the group and thru him, he met and teach also on that year Atty. AC Sangco. Later that year, his friends from his neighborhood Arthuro Hernandez and Arnold Mendiola joined the training.

In 1983, also a friend of Grandmaster Jonathan named Ramil Llaneta and Melvin Donato join and then became his first two assistant and then organize the first Jendo Martial Arts Club of Mandaluyong.
