[edit] Biography and Music
Jentina was born in a caravan in Woking to a Romany family. She grew up in West Molesey, Surrey, alongside 13 brothers and sisters. By seventeen she had moved to work in London and got her first record deal at just 19 years old.
After a heavy advertising campaign on television and features in various UK music magazines - notably NME - her debut single 'Bad Ass Strippa' reached number 22 in the UK singles chart.
After Bad Ass Strippa underperformed, Jentina's label restyled her image and she then released her second single 'French Kisses', written by Cathy Dennis. This entered the chart at number 20, much lower than expected.
Jentina released another single after this in Italy only, Mysterious. With little promotion, it reached the Top 30 in Italy. Her debut album 'Jentina' [1] was then released, also in Italy. With little success, she was dropped from her record label, and the album remains unreleased in the UK.
Currently Jentina is keeping a low profile, and raising a newborn son, although she quoted in an interview on BBC 1-Xtra that she is returning to songwriting and getting back in to music.
Matt Willis claims that he and Jentina (something Jentina had admitted when promoting her second single after the low position of Bad Ass Strippa) slept together in a caravan when they were younger and it was infact this moment that he lost his virginity. He looked mortified as he confirmed this in an interview on Russell Brand's 1 Leicester Square.
