Jenova Project

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Born in the University of Massachusetts, this five-piece progressive rock band originated in 1997. They are known for covering music from games like Final Fantasy VI, Metroid and Contra as well as other rock songs. The Jenova Project stopped playing sometime during the spring of 1999, and ex-members Aaron Burke and Matt Wood eventually formed a band called The Minibosses. The band's official webpage is here.

In the summer of 2004, the band members got back together and played a reunion tour of sorts at MAGFest 3.0 with an additional guitar player:

  • Aaron Burke - Guitar
  • Colin Shaw - Bass
  • Matt Wood - Drums
  • Shervin Riahi - Guitar, keys
  • Stephanie Zimmerman - Guitars, Drums

Around September 2005 the lineup changed a bit in preparation for MAGFest 4.0 in January 2006 although the band did not perform. It was agreed during MAG 4 that a show in Phoenix, AZ was in order and the current members are:

  • Aaron Burke - Guitar, keys
  • Colin Shaw - Bass
  • Garrett Crutch - Keys
  • Matt Gulbrandsen - Guitar
  • Matt Wood - Drums
  • Shervin Riahi - Guitar, keys

with an additional horns section:

  • Dustin Shomer: Clarinet
  • Nickolas Decarlo: Trumpet
  • Žarko "Henry" Jovanović: Trumpet
  • Paul Geisler: Trombone
  • Josh Harris: Baritone
