[edit] Season 1

Recently graduated from college, Jenny decides to move from the Midwest to Los Angeles, where her fiance Tim Haspel was currently living. Tim took a lease on a house and re-adapted the garage to make it Jenny's writer's workshop.

After arriving, Jenny discovers that the apparently conventional neighborhood where Tim is residing has far more to show than what it appeared. She first ends up peeking on Shane, who happened to be having a fling with one of her conquests at the house next to Tim's place (which was Bette Porter and Tina Kennard's house). Jenny later puts on the topic to Tim, in which he confirms his neighbors are a lesbian couple, but clears out he does not think they were having sex in the pool.

The day after the pool incident, Jenny meets Tina. During their reunion, Tina extends Jenny an invitation to a party she will be holding at her home. Jenny accepts the invitation to the party, a decision which was to mark the beginning of a new life for her.

After engaging into small talk with Alice (which in fact, was nothing but an unsuccessful attempt of Alice to seduce her), Marina Ferrer joins the conversation and the chemistry between them shows up. Alice backs off her attempt and lets Marina follow the conquest. During the talk, Jenny excuses herself and proceeds to go to the restroom. Marina mistakenly understands Jenny's action as a sexual invitation and follows her into the bathroom. Here, for the first time, Marina kisses Jenny and unleashes what later is to evolve into an affair. Later on, Jenny confesses to an audience that this was her first time ever with a woman and thus this was her coming out story.

A little bit scared of what happened in the bathroom, Jenny storms out of the party and starts to dwell in the boundary of exploring her new discovered feelings or keeping on the safeground with her fiancé. She finally succumbs to Marina and starts seeing her secretly. Tim, who is unaware of what his girlfriend is up to, invites Marina to a dinner party to celebrate their engagement. Bette notices what is going on and the rumor of the affair spreads out between the lesbian community. Tina decides to confront Jenny with the reality, but she denies anything happening between them. Later on, Alice figures it out and prevents Tim from discovering the relationship by warning Jenny of his arrival to The Planet.

Unfortunately for Jenny, sometimes it doesn't take long for people to start committing mistakes. Marina shows up at Jenny's house and Tim discovers them accidentally while they were having sex. Tim storms out of the house surprised, heartbroken, and deceived. In the midst of such turmoil, Jenny agrees to marry Tim that same night, and also promises to never see Marina again. Right after the wedding took place, Tim changed his mind and decided to leave Jenny at the motel where they got married.

The morning after, Jenny finds herself alone in the hotel. She decides to go off hitchhiking (to try to figure herself out), disappearing for a couple of days and returning back to Tim, after having decided to go on with the relationship. Tim, however, had not heard from her from days and her unexplained arrival only triggered his decision to break up any ties with her. After being kicked out of the house, Jenny reaches out to Marina, only to discover that the latter already has a relationship with someone else and does not intend to break it up because of their affair. Jenny is thus back to a starting point.

Now homeless, Jenny heads back to Tim (since he is the only person she really knows in Los Angeles), and he allows her to stay at the backyard workshop. During the time she lives there, she befriends Dana and the rest of the group, and she travels with them to Pasadena. This is where Jenny meets Robin, a woman who saves her from making a fool of herself with Marina and who later asks her out on a date. Once back in Los Angeles, she also meets Gene Feinberg, a marine biologist with whom she also starts going out. By the end of the first season, Jenny's relationship with Tim is completely over and she is left to choose between Robin, Gene, and an apologetic Marina, who lets Jenny know she is willing to start it all over again.

[edit] Season 2

Jenny dumps Marina after finding out about Francesca, Marina's main lover. In tears, Jenny gets a haircut from Shane. Jenny starts stripping as "the Yeshuva girl."

[edit] Season 3

Jenny returns to Los Angeles with a new girlfriend, Moira, who wants to transition to being a man. Jenny is supportive of this at first, but as Moira/Max gets more testosterone and becomes more aggressive, Jenny's supportiveness wanes. Jenny gets an advance for a thinly fictionalized memoir.
