Jennifer Garrison

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jennifer Garrison is an American politician of the Democratic party from Marietta, Ohio. In 2004, she unseated former Ohio Gov. Nancy P. Hollister to win a seat in the Ohio House of Representatives from the 93rd District. Garrison represents most of Washington County, Guernsey County, Monroe County, Noble County, and part of Muskingum County, all in southeast Ohio. The campaign was highlighted by a sharp contrast between the candidates with Garrison being to the right of Hollister on Gay Marriage (contrasted Hollisters vote against the Ohio Defense of Marriage Act), Right to Life and Taxation (contrasted Hollisters vote for the largest tax increase in Ohio History). Garrison was to the Left of Hollister in supporting education and taking action to address Ohio's unconstitutional school funding formula.
