Jenn Dolari
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jenn Dolari is the Austin, Texas–based author of the webcomics A Wish for Wings and Closetspace.
Born in San Antonio, Texas in 1974, Dolari has been drawing comics as a hobby since the mid–80s. After a short stint working for Antarctic Press comic shop, she left the comics business, focusing more on getting a job in a technical field. She continued doing small work for support group newsletters and for friends all through the 90s, as well as becoming a well known figure in Mortal Kombat Usenet groups.
After a layoff in 2001, Dolari began drawing A Wish for Wings to pass the time waiting for a callback from employers. She started Closetspace in 2002 after passing off the artistic duties on A Wish for Wings to Jenni Bravo, but when no Bravo-penned episodes were produced for A Wish for Wings, Dolari took on both comics.
Dolari cites her main influences as being Babylon 5, Infocom text adventure games, the Comico comic book versions of Robotech, Mage: The Hero Discovered, Grendel and the 1978 Series Battlestar Galactica. A great admirer of the 80's Comico era, she can often be seen at conventions wearing the logo of the company on a homemade button.
