Hello, Jel. I'm watching Namaste and so noticed your edits, which I thought were well done. However, I wonder how accurate your edits on the sacredness of the word "namaste" is in terms of how it's used in India among the people whose greeting it is in their daily language. I know that it's true for Westerners, esp. in the New Age movement, to take Indian gestures and words very literally (I have a lot of first-hand experience in this), while the actual gestures/words are not meant so except in very ritual or honoring situations. A good example of a similar teminology is the phrase "Dia duit" (God save you/be with you) in Irish. This is the everyday greeting, and when said, really only means "Hello. How are you?" rather than the literal meaning. See my comments on the talk page for details on my thoughts on the subject. Note that I have no idea where you're from (though I'd guess Eastern), and if you're Indian I'd be very interested in your take on what I'm saying. - After editing the article and cleaning it up a bit, I'm worried that your edits are a bit POV. If you disagree, please say so and why on the talk page: I love to hear other points of view, especially when I have such strong ones. Please make sure you've read WP:NPOV and go and look at the Namaste article and its talk page. It's always a good idea to look at an article's talk page before editing it, if one exists.
