Jelutong, Penang

Jelutong is a town in Penang, Malaysia residing on the outskirts of Georgetown, the capital of Penang. The main road leading to Jelutong town centre is Jalan Jelutong. As this is a predominantly a residential area, the major areas of interest lies in the many places famous for its local foods stalls. A new coastal highway connecting Georgetown to Bayan Lepas named the Jelutong Expressway has since been constructed to solve the traffic woes on the main Jalan Jelutong. Karpal Singh Ram Singh or simply Karpal Singh is a Malaysian politician and a lawyer by profession who has partly made Jelutong a famous name in Malaysia. His reputation has earned him the nickname "Tiger of Jelutong". Jelutong once has a supermarket named Suiwah(closed since 2006)
