Jekyll is a forthcoming British television drama serial. The story is a new version of Robert Louis Stevenson's novel The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, updated to a modern setting with Jekyll using contemporary technology to try and keep Hyde dormant and protect his family from the darker side of his personality.
The six episode serial is being produced by the independent production company Hartswood Films, in association with Stagescreen Productions, for BBC One with some co-production funding from the BBC America cable television channel in the United States.[1] It is written by Steven Moffat. The directors are Douglas Mackinnon and Matt Lipsey.[2]
The serial will star James Nesbitt in the title role.[3] Also featuring are Gina Bellman, Denis Lawson, Michelle Ryan, Meera Syal[2] and Mark Gatiss.[4]
