The Jehovah's Witnesses view of Jesus' death differentiates itself from the traditional Christian view in that they do not consider Jesus to have been crucified on a cross, and present a number of arguments to support their stance.

[edit] Arguments

  • The greek word "stauros" doesn't refer to a cross [1].
  • The cross was a pagan symbol later adopted by the churches [1].
  • Archeology shows that Jesus died on a stake, not a cross [1].
  • The bible doesn't say that Jesus died on a cross [1].
  • The torture stake (cross) was shameful and shouldn't be given attention [1].
