Jeffrey Alan Kohn was born on November 27, 1978 in Edison, New Jersey to parents Thomas Kohn and Malvina Kohn. He has two older siblings, Deborah Sharon Kohn, born April 12, 1976 and Robert David Kohn, born March 10, 1974.
While Jeffrey spent his young years in Edison, NJ, he and his family moved to Scotch Plains, NJ when he was 7 years old, and have lived there ever since.
Jeffrey attended Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva day school for elementary school, and transferred to the Jewish Educational Center, Elizabeth, NJ for middle and high school. Upon his transfer, Jffrey found himself less academically challenged than previously, and quickly moved up a class, skipping most of 7th grade.
Upon graduating high school, where he was valedictorian of his class, Jeffrey attended Yeshiva University, majoring in Chemistry and Biology, and graduating Summa Cum Laude. Amon his awards in college are his Max Stern Academic Scholarship, valedictorian of the Beit Medrash Jewish Studies Program, and the Chemsitry award. Jeffrey was also quite involved in extracurricular activities including President of Sigma Delta Rho Honors Science Research Society, Editor of its research journal, and Chairman of the Faculty-Student University Senate.
After four years of undergraduate education, Jeffrey attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, with a Medical Scientisy Training Program Fellowship from the National Institutes of Health. His focus of study was internal medicine and cardiology, and he stayed at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for Internal Medicine training.
