"It has been suggested that this article or section be merged with Geoffrey. (Discuss)" Do not merge it, it are 2 different names ! my name is jeffrey. I don't like to be called geoffrey

Definitely merge them. Geoffrey and Jeffrey are just spelling variants. In fact they're sort of merged already, in that they each contain examples of the other spelling. Flapdragon 03:02, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I also agree that they should be merged. Yauhin 02:22, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

No, don't merge them. Anyone named Jeffery or Geoffrey will tell you that they are two very different names. They are spelling variants, but that variation happened in the middle ages. These names have evolved in their own directions over the last 600 years.

Do Not MergeThe only correct way to spell Jeffrey is J-E-F-F-R-E-Y. Do not mix my name with that stupid spelling mistake. Dudtz 9/7/06 5:08 PM EST

My name is Jeffrey, and I don't want my name merged with the name of the Toys R Us Giraffe. Don't Merge Cao Wei 01:08, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

do NOT merge

MY NAME IS JEFFREY AND WE SHOUDENT MERGE THESE TWO NAMES BECAUSE THEIR DIFFERENT FROM EACH OTHER

Geoffrey has medieval French roots. Jeffrey is a seperate name of Scottish descent. They are therefore distinct and should remain so.
