_ _ The Berkeley Barb reported about 1970 on his attempt to have his name changed by court order to Jefferson Fuck Poland (and reported on him for a while as the "Rev. Jefferson Fuck Poland of the Universal Life Church's Shiva Fellowship", explaining at least once that, Shiva being a god of destruction, it was appropriate to invoke him with the burning of dried (marijuana) leaves.) So perhaps, when it's continuing verifiability is determined, that is a sidelight of interest bcz of his successfull change.
