Jefferson Airplane Takes Off is the debut album of San Francisco rock band Jefferson Airplane. It was released on RCA Victor Records in 1966 (see 1966 in music).The personnel on this LP was different from the later "classic" lineup of the next album. Signe Anderson was the female vocalist while Skip Spence played the drums. Both left the group shortly after the album's release to be replaced by Grace Slick and Spencer Dryden respectively.
