Jeff Jacoby has been a Boston Globe opinion/editorial columnist since 1994. Born in Cleveland in 1959, he is a graduate of George Washington University and the Boston University School of Law. From 1987 to 1994, he was chief editorial writer for the Boston Herald. He generally writes from a conservative perspective.

In 1999, he became the first recipient of the Breindel Prize, a $10,000 award for excellence in opinion journalism. His columns also appear in the online e-zine Jewish World Review and at Townhall.com.
