Jeff Jacobson (Ohio)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jeff Jacobson of Dayton, Ohio, is an American politician of the Republican party, who holds a seat in the Ohio Senate.
Jacobson hoped to succeed Doug White as president of the Ohio Senate following the 2004 election (White was prevented by Ohio's term limits laws from running for re-election). However, in the summer of 2004, it was revealed that Jacobson was involved with associates of Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder, Brett Buerck and Kyle Sisk, who were under investigation for violating federal and state campaign financing laws. In July, Jacobson announced that he would not seek the Senate's top job and settled for the No. 2 spot as president pro tempore, allowing Sen. Bill Harris to take the top slot.
Despite these difficulties, Jacobson easily won re-election in 2004 against Democratic challenger Jason Stanton.
