Jeannot

Jeannot was a leader of the 1791 slave rising that began the Haïtian Revolution. With Biassou and Jean François, he was prophecied by Dutty Boukman to lead the revolution, and fought with the Spanish royalists against the French Revolutionary authorities in colonial Haiti. He was put to death by for what Biassou deemed excessive cruelty. Such examples included beheading his own soldiers for insubordination, taking extreme delight in the torture of white prisoners and even bathing and consuming the blood of white casualties in battle. (Beard) It is said that he used the body of a white baby as a flag when his soldiers marched into battle.
