The district includes the Borough of Verdun, along with the neighbourhoods of Saint-Henri, Little Burgundy, and Pointe-Saint-Charles and the eastern part of Côte-Saint-Paul, in the Borough of Le Sud-Ouest.

The riding was created in 2003 from Verdun—Saint-Henri—Saint-Paul—Pointe Saint-Charles, Notre-Dame-de-Grâce—Lachine and Westmount—Ville-Marie ridings.
