Jean Rondeau
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jean Rondeau (? - December 27, 1985) won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1980, in a car made by himself, an achievement which remains unique in the history of the race.
Rondeau's factory, similarly to those of Courage and Henri Pescarolo, was based near Le Mans. His "Rondeau M379B" was powered by a Ford-Cosworth V8 engine. Rondeau also finished 2nd in 1984 after driving one of Preston Henn's Porsche 956s.
Rondeau was killed when his car was hit by a train outside Champagne.
