Jean-Pierre Cassel

Jean-Pierre Cassel (b. October 27, 1932), is a French actor, born in Paris.
When he tapped for stage, Gene Kelly discovered him, and asked to his film shooting in Paris. Then he gained fame in the late 1950s as hero in comedies by Philippe de Broca.
During the 1960s and 1970s he worked with Claude Chabrol (La Rupture), Luis Buñuel (Le charme discret de la bourgeoisie), Ken Annakin (Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines), Gérard Brach (The Boat on the Grass), Richard Lester (The Three Musketeers), Sidney Lumet (Murder on the Orient Express), Joseph Losey (The Trout). One of his late great roles he has played in Robert Altman's Prêt-à-Porter (1994) and also Gaché for Vincent & Theo (1990).
He is father of Vincent Cassel and Cécile Cassel.
