Jean Tulasne, a highly decorated French fighter pilot who led the Normandie fighter group (later renamed the Normandie-Niemen fighter regiment with the blessing of Joseph Stalin) during World War II on the Eastern Front. Tulasne was posted missing (presumed killed in action) on July 17, 1943.
