[edit] Welcome

Welcome!

Hello Jcurtis, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  --ZeWrestler Talk 00:17, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wrestling

To answer your question, if it wasn't for the fact that I had to quit wrestling for school, this would have been my 10th season in the sport. I wrestled from 7th grade to begining of my senior year in college. So, yes I lvoe wrestling. --ZeWrestler Talk 01:11, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

  • No, the only sport I ever participated in was wrestling. by the way, in the future can you leave the message on the bottom of my talk page and sign your message with ~~~~ that'll generate your signature. --ZeWrestler Talk 02:59, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
  • I know next to nothing about football. So i wouldn't be of any use for it. --ZeWrestler Talk 03:04, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
  • A lot of good games you mentioned there. My personal favorites include the Final Fantasy series, Legend of Zelda and Super Smash Bros. I'm also going to start playing Xenosaga soon. In hs, I wrestled 140 and 145. In college, I wrestled 149lb all 4 years. --ZeWrestler Talk 03:18, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the tip. I'll look more into it when I finish applying to grad school. Btw to make life easier for you and people whose take pages you sign, rather than just typing your name, all you have to type is "~~~~" It will automatically generate your name and a link to your profile. In my case, it also generates a link to my talk page, but thats because i edited the properties of my account. give it a try next time you sign a talk page. --ZeWrestler Talk 08:09, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Stuff

Hi, Well, let's just say I'm not as young as you and not nearly as accomplished in sports. My interests include science topics and international relations (I studied some foreign languages for this purpose). But I really prefer not to talk too much about myself. I'm looking forward to seeing more good contributions from you. -- Curps 07:25, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

Lots of contributors take a break from time to time but sometimes come back after a while. You've made good contributions to sports pages. Wikipedia is a bit like a library... there are probably some books in the library with topics that you don't approve of, but on the whole a library is a good thing. So I hope you can balance life online and offline and maybe still find time to contribute on sports topics. Good luck to you, whatever you decide to do. -- Curps 05:46, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

Sounds good. I guess that's a sports metaphor since we don't actually have any contracts. -- Curps 04:29, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

Hi, sorry for not getting back to you earlier. In general, it's best add new messages at the bottom of my talk page rather than at the top; most new messages get added to the bottom, so that's where I check first.

Regarding Brooke Berry: administrators can't just delete articles on their own, we need to follow Wikipedia:Deletion policy. There are strict rules on "speedily deleting" an article, see Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion, and the Brooke Berry article does not meet them. An article like this could only be deleted if it was nominated at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion and there was a consensus to delete it, but I'm fairly sure the vote would be a very large majority to keep, since it is pretty much established from past precedent that Playboy Playmates of the month for any given month are considered sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia.

What is your objection to the article? It sticks to the facts, doesn't contain any salacious material, and the photo is perfectly ordinary and modest. Perhaps she's a source of unwanted temptation for you? We can't really delete articles for that reason, though.

I hope life is treating you well, and as before your football contributions are much appreciated. -- Curps 06:19, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Request for edit summary

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

[edit] Arena Football

Hey, I've been looking for Arena football info for a while. Where are you getting your source info? --DNL 18:19, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

Could you drop me a line anyway? Use this form.--DNL 19:24, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your edits to Wikicalendar pages

Hi, I've been having to revert a lot of your edits to Wikicalendar pages lately. I assume they're made in good faith, so I don't feel they are vandalism. However, to be listed on a Wikicalendar page, a person must first have a Wikipedia article so their link doesn't come up as a redlink. Please check that the folks you're adding have pages before you add them. Also, to keep the pages as neat and presentable as possible, please limit each entry to FULLNAME, NATIONALITY_MOSTNOTEDROLE (YEAROFBIRTH/DEATH) (if applicable). You don't have to specify what instrument a musician played, just say they are/were a musician. You don't have to specify that a person was a quarterback, just say he was a football player. I'm sure you get the idea. Thanks for your cooperation (and your contributions!), and if you have any questions or comments, please write to me on my talk page. [edit] Frank Haege

A tag has been placed on Frank Haege, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be a biographical account about a person, group of people, or band, but it does not indicate how or why he/she/they is/are notable. If you can indicate why Frank Haege is really notable, I advise you to edit the article promptly, and also put a note on Talk:Frank Haege. Any admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. You might also want to read our general biography criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that admins should wait a while for you to assert his/her/their notability, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and then immediately add such an assertion. It is also a very good idea to add citations from reliable sources to ensure that your article will be verifiable. See the guidelines for including someone in WP on Wikipedia:Notability (people) JMcC 17:11, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pete Traynor

This article was a non-notable biography according to the criteria set out in WP:BIO. (aeropagitica) 21:41, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] External link blanking

Since you haven't been leaving an edit summary when blanking the external links sections of several Playboy Playmates, I have reverted your edits. If you have a valid reason why these links should not be on the pages, please explain yourself. Dismas|(talk) 04:45, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Why do you continue to blank the external links in articles and also make POV edits to articles? Both of these things go against Wikipedia policy. For the relevant guidelines, see WP:EL and WP:NPOV. Dismas|(talk) 10:32, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
Due to your continued use of POV wording, blanking of external links, and failure to use edit summaries even though you've been asked to do so, I'm warning you that if you continue to do these things, you can be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Dismas|(talk) 04:01, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] blanking

Thank you for experimenting with the page Sylvia Saint on Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you may want to do. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Dismas|(talk) 10:10, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Possible vandalism

I have reverted your changes to List of gay porn stars and Brad Armstrong (porn star). Please stop adding and removing links inappropriately. Coninuing to do so could be seen as vandalism, and you could be blocked from editing. Thank you.Chidom talk  09:26, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Blanking links

Please stop. If you continue to blank pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Tabercil 22:26, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

This is your last warning.
The next time you blank a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Tabercil 03:39, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
