About Me
|
Hi. My name is John. I've been fascinated with wikipedia since I discovered it as a valuable research tool while writing papers back in high school. After enough minor edits, grammer and spelling corrections, vandalism fixes and article additions, I decided to register fully. Although you might not see many fully researched, thorough, beautiful articles coming from me, I think that low-key members such as myself are just as important to the Wikipedia Project's success.

So now for a little about myself. I hail from the great state of Connecticut. As this is being written I'm a rising sophmore at Duke University in sunny North Carolina. I'm concentrating in Physics and Philosophy. Truthfully, I have no idea what I want to do after leaving school, so I just ran down the list of majors and picked two that were close together. Nevertheless, I have a great interest in all things philosophical in nature, including general philosophy, art, politics, liturature, the sciences, and the like.
When I'm not 'scratching my chin' (in other words, most of the time) I love sports, including soccer, football, basketball, alpine skiing, squash, rugby, endurance running, swimming, and ultimate frisbee, as well as other athletic activities like backpacking, rowing, and hiking. I love film, both in the form of movies and good tv shows, although I rarely watch TV when it's on. I'm not going to ramble off my favorite movies or shows, but I will tell you that the last movie which I saw was The Usual Suspects, and I'm in the middle of watching the first and only season of the show Firefly. I dabble in programming/computing, enough so that I rarely encounter a problem with my computer that I can't fix. I'm writing this little autobiography on an Apple Powerbook, but I also run a server using Ubuntu.
I consider myself a political moderate with Libertarian leanings. I'm not very religious, but I am interested in Humanism and Existentialism. I am an ENTP according to the Myers-Briggs personality test. At Duke, I'm an associate photography editor for The Chronicle, the Duke independent daily. I ski for the Duke Ski Team. I'm also a member of Mirecourt House.
Anyway, I think I've rambled enough about myself by now. If you have anything to say, feel free to do it on my talk page.
