The present release version of JBoss Mail Server is 1.0 Milestone 5-pre1 (June 2006). One of the project goals is to allow "Mail-Based Applications" through user extensibility. Much of the core server is implemented using these extension points based on JBoss's extended version of JMX MBeans and Java classes conforming to JBoss Mail Server's MailListener interface.
