[edit] Bose Headphone Family
I'm afraid that you misquoted the article entirely. The article was talking about Noise canceling headphones in general and NOT Bose specifically.
Here is what Headphone.com says
- "Noise canceling headphones have become quite popular over the last five years thanks to a very active ad campaign from Bose. Sadly, this type of headphone actually provides the lowest sound quality and acoustic isolation. In noise-canceling headphones a small microphone is mounted in each earpiece and picks up the sound arriving at the ear. This ambient noise signal is sent to a small electronics unit attached to the headphone cable and is inverted and summed with the music coming in from your player and sent back to drive the headphones. As the inverted ambient noise signal drives the headphones it creates sound that is exactly opposite and therefore cancels the ambient sound arriving at the ear. This technology can achieve about a 10dB drop in a limited spectral region of the noise you hear from the environment. In other word you get a limited reduction in outside noise. On the other hand, a traditional full-sized sealed headphone will provide roughly 10dB of isolation over a much wider frequency range, and you will be able to control the quality of reproduction by having a wide choice of headphones and the ability to use a headphone amplifier."
This article is also about Bose headphones and not about everyone else in the market. And the Beyer DT-880, Sennheiser HD580 and AKG K601 ARE NOT even noise canceling headphones! If you want to compare them to anything compare them to the TriPorts not the QC2 SE!! Its just the same as comparing apple and oranges... You have to compare Both the Noise cancellation & sound not nitpicking the one and ignoring the other. Noise reduction after all is what the headphones are designed primarily to do! -- UKPhoenix79 09:58, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Great Job (c:=
Good job on your quick reverting of 204.210.255.237 vandalism on the Bose Headphone Family article. And what you said on his talk page is really impressive. I must say that you really have taken the concept of Wikipedia to heart in an amazingly quick time. Thanks for the kind words you said about me. I noticed that you have only done edits on the Bose Headphone Family. Why not go out and explore the rest of wikipedia and help other pages also? Believe me it is a lot of fun! Also why not create a user page so that we can know a little more about you? UKPhoenix79 00:04, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
