[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:KXLN_Univision45.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:KXLN_Univision45.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 00:26, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Russian wikipedia
Thanx for adding info to ru:Хоккей на XX зимних Олимпийских играх. As you can see from the version history, some of your errors were corrected. Please examine them carefully. Hope this will help you improve your Russian skills. You are always welcome to contribute to the Russian Wikipedia but please try to minimize errors. [edit] Sports Wiki
I noticed you were active on a bunch sports pages. My friends and I started a sports wiki that you may be interested in. It uses Wikipedia's software but we made a lot of technological improvements to allow for more news and opinion articles. The site is www.armchairgm.com/. We're not "officially" launching until March 6th, but you can feel free to poke around and add content. Let me know if you have any questions.--Awrigh01 20:41, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Please check your WP:NA entry
Greetings, editor! Your name appears on Wikipedia:List of non-admins with high edit counts. If you have not done so lately, please take a look at that page and check your listing to be sure that following the particulars are correct:
- If you are an admin, please remove your name from the list.
- If you are currently interested in being considered for adminship, please be sure your name is in bold; if you are opposed to being considered for adminship, please cross out your name (but do not delete it, as it will automatically be re-added in the next page update).
- Please check to see if you are in the right category for classification by number of edits.
Thank you, and have a wiki wiki day! BDAbramson T 03:56, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Aung San Suu Kyi pronounciation
I noticed you added the IPA pronounciation for Aung San Suu Kyi (aʊŋ sən su tʃi). I don't know how to read IPA, but I am somewhat sure that 'ŋ' is pronounced 'ng'. However, in the Burmese language, 'ŋ' as a final becomes an 'n' sound, more like 'San' of Aung San Suu Kyi. Can you please correct this to reflect the phonology of Standard Burmese? Sorry for the inconvenience. Hintha 07:34, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User:JB82/Capital Region county templates
This user subpage is showing up in the categories the template applies; the way to fix this would be to subst: the templates, and then remove the category tags. Thanks! Postdlf 02:02, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Headshot.jpg listed for deletion
[edit] Category:People from Albany, New York
Hi. I was wondering what happened to Category:People from Albany, New York? You created it and then tried to list it for deletion. The Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Category:People from Albany, New York says you found another category? I don't see any categories for "Albanians (New York)". Let me know what's going on and I'll clean it up. It seems like a category for people from Albany would be a good thing. —Wknight94 (talk) 16:17, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, it's still there - because I removed the deletion tag you added and now I'm adding articles to the category. I wasn't sure why you wanted to delete it in the first place. Just curious... —Wknight94 (talk) 01:16, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Live updates on sporting events
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a news site. Our articles will be read for years to come, so it isn't necessary to make up-to-the-minute updates to our articles on sporting events. Please wait until the game is over before updating the page with scores, statistics, and such. This will prevent extra unnecessary edits. Thank you. --Cyde↔Weys 21:31, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi there! I see you've listed this user page on AfD. However, as a _user_ page, rather than a page in the main namespace, you need to request its deletion on MfD instead. Virtually the same procedure, but different tags and a different discussion page. Tevildo 01:46, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NY Route Articles
Hello, JB. I truly appreciate your hard work on NYS route articles. However, there are a several points I would like to bring up.
- With this edit, you deleted the counties entry in the routebox. The counties are part of the unwritten standard for the NY routebox, so these should be included. Your editing should be done with this in mind: if the category (junctions, termini, counties) existed in the old routebox, they should be present in the new one.
- The {{NYSRInt/XX}} templates are meant for substitution only. To use these templates, fill out the template and use {{subst:NYSRInt/XX|XX|XX}}. Also, these templates are only for use in the Major Intersections table and not in the routebox.
- Exits should be listed in this format: Exit X (I-XX) with a period at the end (so "Exit X (I-XX).").
- Termini should always be the last item mentioned in the notes box.
- Any sentences in the notes box should be followed by a period to make the entry more appealing to the eye.
- In this edit, you reverted the reference link to an incorrect link. I assume that this was an accident.
- Multiplexes should have two entries, one for the start and one for the end, unless the multiplex begins and ends in the same town name.
All of this was from New York State Route 9A alone. Please review the above information and incorporate this into future edits. Thanks! --TMF T - C 06:57, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
I erred regarding the final point, see the NY 9A article for how it should look.
Regarding this edit, the templates are meant to be substituted! This allows for any necessary tweaking of the resulting text and links, such as disambiguation. --TMF T - C 07:21, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
One more point: instead of not including the links to shields that do not exist, include the redlinks: I scan the NYSR articles each night looking for shields that need to be made. Thanks! --TMF T - C 07:57, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
It should be noted that the "Links" section is no longer part of the project standard. The Links/Internal section and Links/External section have been replaced by "See also" and "External links", respectively. Also, a link to the route list page is no longer necessary as there is a link to the page in the routebox.
Your edits to the link sections on NY 9P, among other routes, have been reverted to conform to the project standard. --TMF T - C 19:12, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Additional cleanup
Hey JB. I noticed you've been working hard on the cleanup efforts, something that I am very grateful for. When you do the cleanup, could you also ensure that the "Towns along the route" header is changed to "Communities along the route" and the length reference link displays just "New York Routes - New York State Route x"? If you could do those tasks as well, that'd be great. Thanks. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 16:22, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Goon Show edits
Thanks for the Firezine reference. I'm not sure why you extracted the Trivia section from the Goon Show page as you didn't discuss it first as is customary. Someone is now suggesting deleteing your new page altogether Talk:Goon_Show_trivia.
[edit] Dorothea Lange and IPA
