Jazmin (জ্যাজ়মিন) (born 1985), alternatively spelled Jazmine, Jasmin, Jesmin, Jasmine or Yasmin, is a Bangladeshi-born American pornographic actress, reported to be the first ever pornstar of Bangladeshi descent. She made her first appearance in the adult entertainment industry in 2003, and through 2006 has acted in over sixty porn movies.[1]
Apart from acting in hardcore porn films she also does adult modeling, belly dancing, and is reported to have a training in Jeet Kune Do. Based in the US she is one of the few Bangladeshi female actors able break into western entertainment industry scenario, the others being Shefali Chowdhury and Konnie Huq, who work at the other end of the spectrum of respectability from Jazmin.

Jazmin has become an underground debate for Bangladesh porn-community. Bangladeshi netizens have been divided on the issue of her success. Those criticizing her include patriots claiming she is further turnishing the image of Bangladesh already tainted with poverty, and the religious who claim that she stands against Islam, the religion of the majority in Bangladesh. Those praising her claim the fact that she has been successful in the West, introducing westerners to Bangledesh ethnicity and culture.
Her emergence as an officially declared pornstar marks a change in the scenery of local made Bangladesh porn movies which almost solely are either candidly shot movies made without consent of the females featured, or are made with low-priced sex workers. The unwitting female victims of underground adult entertainment industry are unable to sue the makers (who are also actors in most cases) due to the prevailing paradigm of purity of women. [2]
Her public stand as an empowered woman marks a paradigm shift from the completely underground and illicit representation of Bangladesh in the adult entartainment industry. It may be noted here that the first Bangladesh woman to publicly express her sexuality is the controversial radical feminist writer Taslima Nasrin, who published about her casual physical relations with quite a number of men. Her autobiographical books were condemned as pornography and its import, export or local distribution was banned.

Jazmin has been identified by various websites as Middle Eastern, Indian, Pakistani, and even Latin or African. She is also often confused with some other pornstars and adult models or actors from other countries, including China, Brazil, Mexico, Italy, US and UK, bearing the same name. A few other adult models and actors, like Kerri and Sabina, also use the name as their alias.
Among the porn and adult stars who bear a similar name are - Jasmin St. Claire, Jasmine Aloha, Jasmine Byrne, Jasmine Klein, Jasmine Lynn, Jasmine Rouge, Jasmine Starr, Jasmine Tame, Jazmin (Lolana), Jazmine (Tattoo), Jazmine Cashmere, Jazmine Leigh, Jazmine Sky, Mistress Jazmin, Princess Jazmine.
Welsh swimmer Jazmin Carlin, Filipino athlete Arsenio Jazmin, Australian hockey player Jazmin Poyser, princess of Monaco Jazmin Grace Rotolo, British politician Jazmin Naghar, American Idol contestant Jazmin Lowery, American actress Jazmin Lewis, Argentine actress Jazmín Becar Varela also bear the same name. The same name is also used by a few notable fictional characters from TV and movie shows like Danny Phantom, The Boondocks and Aladdin, as well as comic books such as Kid Quantum.

In her video interviews Jazmin comes across a naïve victim of circumstances, but her biography tells that she has gone through all the trials and tribulations that all aspiring porn stars go through to become the first ever porn star from her native Bangladesh. She is known to be the daughter of a first generation Bangladeshi-Americans who migrated from the port city of Chittagong [citation needed].

In an interview, Jazmin says, "I've always wanted to be famous for something. I tried to sing but I suck at it. I tried to dance. I was kinda good. I did belly dancing professionally. I wanted to do something more. I was very shy and not thinking good about myself." Around that time she moved out of her parents home.
Then she continues, "One of my friends said I would be good at porn if I tried. I was freaked out the first time. Then I thought why not. I want to go with the flow. I just did my thing. I started doing nude modeling with High Society magazine. Then I started dancing for a couple of months. I got bored with it. I heard about Mark Spiegler from one of my friends. That he was an agent. I called him. The next thing I knew I was in porn."[3]

As one of the Spiegler Girls, the top adult performer management agency in Los Angeles, she soon started getting small roles in X-rated movies. Spiegler landed her first two movie - Orgy World (7) and Incumming (3) - with production houses Evasive Angles and Diabolic. And for the next two months arranged for almost continuous shooting with some of the top porn producers like Anabolic, Red Light District and Platinum X Pictures. The first two releases were closely followed by two films from the house West Coast - Booty Talk (48) and Bustin' Nutzs.[1]
In another interview Jazmin said, of Mark Spiegler, "He's like a guide. The best thing I like about him is my first time [performing]. I was very scared. In one minute he just sat me down. He was there for the shoot, and he sat me down and calmed me down. I would never work for anybody else except him."[4]

Her first films were all very forgettable. In Orgy World she was cast along a horde of other female performers - Keiko, Ariana Jollee, Daphne Rosen, Destiny Deville, Kayla Marie, Tyler Knight, Asia, Luccia, Luissa Rosso, Melanie X, Nika Lani, Staci Thorn, Trinity Post, Venus, and Zena. In Booty Talk she was one of seven new girls, led by Spiegler favorite Marie Luv. This film contains Jazmin's first ever performance on camera (January 2004), and it features Asia (not Asia Carrera), another newcomer from the Orgy World set and one of her closest partners in her early days. This was followed by three films in the barely legal category, exploting her age of 19 and looks even younger - Easy Prey by Smash Pictures, 18 Year Old Pussy (3) by Sin City, and Barely 18 (13) by Devil's Film. Then she was presented as a fresh new Latin face of the porn industry in her next four films - Who's the New Girl by New Sensations, Hot Ass Latinas (2) by Platinum X Pictures, Fresh New Faces (5) by Red Light District, and Teen Latin Dolls (3) by Exquisite Pleasures.
She started moving away from Spiegler, and LA, though a brief attempt at moving out to Connecticut didn't realize. The last film she did as one of the Spiegler Girls was her biggest success till that time, BiggZ and the Beauties (11) by Digital Sin, featuring her in the second lead and BiggZ's supposedly 15 inch long organ as the storyline. And, she was stilled being billed as Indian, Middle Eastern, Ebony (meaning African-American) or Latin.

Her next three films were done without Spiegler - Wet Brunettes (3) by Platinum X Pictures, Double Teamed (4) by Digital Sin, and About Face (1) by 3rd Degree. All were moderate roles in moderate films, but at the same time all were from big production houses and featured glittering casts. Wet Brunettes had Jezebelle Bond as co-star, while Double Teamed had Nadia Nyce and Roxy Jezel, two more of her partners in the emerging Indian ethnic genre.
The big break came from a modest production house, not one of the big ones. Maximum Xposure decided to cast her as the female lead in Bangladesh Booty, the film that carried an exotic flavor of a faraway land to the viewers. It was closely followed by Throat Yogurt (2), a Platinum X Picture production again riding on Jazmin as the lead.

Bangladesh Booty is the first ever internationally released formal/official porn movie to bear the name of Bangladesh and to feature a Bangladeshi in the female lead. It also is the first film to promote Jazmin as a Bangladeshi. It featured a multi-cultural host of pornstars, all posing as Bangladeshis, as well as featuring Jazmin belly dancing, doing yoga and having sex in Kamasutra positions.[5]
In casting the first ever declared Bangladeshi porn actor - Jazmin - in her first leading role it has created a headway for Bangladesh formally into one major area of entertainment. It also has taken the emerging porn-film genre of Indian ethnic to a more detailed level in recognizing smaller parts of the Indian subcontinent like Bangladesh, which the long standing genre of Ebony ethnic failed to do so far. It is even more remarkable in the fact that unlike India or UK based (where there is a sizable desi community) Indian ethnic films, Bangladesh Booty was made in the US, featuring a multi-cultural cast posing as Bangladeshis.

More success followed in 2005 - Anal Addicts (19) by Northstar Associates (anal sex), Asian Cream Pie Invasion by Devil's Film (bukakke), Squirting 101 (4) by Digital Sin (squirting) and more. But, the brightest feathers in her cap were the artfully made movies - Intrigue by Wicked Pictures, Head Master (1) by Adam & Eve Pictures, Oh Me So Horny (3) by Lethal Hardcore. And, her status as a pornstar was forged in iron with the release of Worship this Bitch 3: the Jazmin edition by Bouncy Pictures.
2006 began equally exciting for her with the releases of Headmaster (2) by Adam and Eve Pictures (a bigger better rehash of the original) and Playgirl Private Pleasures by Playgirl/Wicked Pictures (pornography for women). Also in this year, the success of Bangaldesh Booty prompted Maximum Xposure to produce Bangladesh Booty 2, featuring a host of Latina and Indian pornstars. Sahara Knite, Destiny Deville, Persia Decarlo, Rio Mariah, and Velvet performed in this film released in January 17, 2006. It has been reported that, whenever Jazmin is called an Indian she now throws things and swears. Half of her later movies actually contain Bengali dialogues written by her.
