[edit] JAY N. FORREST

BIOGRAPHY

Rev. Jay N. Forrest is an author, Bible teacher, and Christian mystic living in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. Rev. Forrest was born on June 21 in Shawano, Wisconsin. He grew up in a broken home and never really knew his father. His childhood was tough, being filled with drugs and drinking. But at the age of 19 the Lord touched his heart through a Christian television program and he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. The change in his life was definite and dramatic.

EDUCATION

Rev. Forrest pursued his undergraduate degree in Bible from Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, with ministerial studies through Berean University. Rev. Forrest has a Masters degree in Spiritual Direction, and in 1999 he was awarded a Doctorate of Divinity (h.c.) from St. Luke's Evangelical School of Theology. In 2006 he received a Doctorate in Ministry from Trinity Institute of Christian Counseling. He has also taken post graduate courses in church planting from Southwestern Christian University Graduate School and the Vineyard Christian Fellowship.

MINISTRY

Rev. Jay N. Forrest began his ministry in 1985 in obedience to the Lord's directive to "teach My people My word." In the following 20 years Rev. Forrest has pastored churches in Wisconsin, Missouri, Tennessee, and Arizona. In addition to pastoring, he has also taught at Cornerstone Christian Academy and Harvesters Bible Institute, and served as a Licensed Missionary for Stonecroft Ministries in Kansas City, Missouri. For many years Rev. Forrest served as the President of Jay Forrest Ministries, Inc., a 501(C)(3) nonprofit corporation that has reached, through its Internet ministry, more than 8,000 people in over 50 nations of the world.

PUBLISHED WORKS

Rev. Forrest is the author of The Deeper Life, a book available through Cafe Press. Rev. Forrest has also published over 120 articles in The Cutting Edge, The Rhema Newsletter, The Pentecostal Way, and on several web sites. He also has published poetry by The National Library of Poetry.

CHRISTIAN MYSTICISM

Early in his Christian walk Rev. Forrest discovered the writings of A. W. Tozer, who in turn introduced him to the Christian mystics. In the mystics he found fellow travelers who were, like himself, passionately pursuing God's presence.
